Hair Removal For Men

Times are changing- men are starting to show their “manliness” other ways besides letting their chest hair go free.  Though women love good hair, men now gloat in different ways than having an army of hairs bursting out of your neck collar.   Men see the trends and can’t help but being curious of the unknown…how they look with no hair.  There’s a high chance, if you let curiosity get the best of you that you’ll love the changes!  A huge benefit is that you’ll look more cut and fit; hair really disguises all the hard work you put into your body.  With a hairless body that has had a touch of the sun it’ll transform your body and you’ll feel like a new man.

The experience can be great, but it can also be absolutely horrible.  It all depends on what method you use and how you do it; if you get the urge one time to continue the shaving process past your face down to the chest, I’m going to recommend you show some self-control, stop and try another method.  Not that you won’t like the look of your freshly shaved chest, but you definitely won’t like the feel of it later on as it’s growing back in.  Some men get some gnarly razor burn.

One of my friends who’s what every man wants to be; big, strong, fast, and athletic, tends to be pretty hairy.  We were planning on going on a cruise and he started entertaining the thought of having a hairless chest and back.  A bunch of us encouraged him to wax it all off, like friends do who are in search for entertainment.  We heard it was painful but well worth it in the end.  After enough convincing, he decided to go through with the deed.  Long story short- I’ve never seen a man be in so much pain, not only that, his body was smooth but on the cruise he got a crazy rash and a bunch of ingrown hairs.  Though it was funny I felt bad for the poor guy.  I’ll bet he’ll never do it again because of his experience but the truth is,  it doesn’t have to be that way.  Though it may cost more, going to a salon to get waxed is much less painful and results in less irritation.

Most men shy away from the idea of waxing but laser hair removal is another story.  You’d be shocked how popular it is for men to get laser hair removal treatments.  It’s much more permanent than waxing, buzzing, tweezing, shaving etc.  It prevents you from being a slave to your body hair growth and gets you great results.  Most men already manscape so they like the look but for those how have never seen their body without hair, I recommend doing a less permanent solution to try it out.  Chances are you’ll start surfing the same wave everyone else is and you won’t look back.

Things To Know About Laser Hair Removal

laser hair removalWomen are constantly shaving, waxing, trimming… it never ends!  You know it can be very exhausting to keep up with everything. Laser hair removal is a more permanent way to get the smooth skin you’ve always wanted without the constant upkeep.  Wow, that really does sound amazing… and it can be but there’s more that goes into it than you may think.  Laser hair removal, in my opinion is the best way to get your body ready for the summer time fun!  There’s more to it than zap this and zap that to the solution and I hope to give you the knowledge you need to know so you are ready to hit the beach in the summer time… or in the case of Utah, boating!

Getting laser treatments is very efficient on some women but for others, it may take a little longer; it’s a case by case scenario depending on the pigment of skin, hair color, hair thickness etc.  There are a couple of misconceptions linked with laser hair removal; 1.  It’s permanent, 2.  It’s instant, 3.  It’s painless, all of which I’ll discuss below.  If you have any comments or feedback I’d love to hear it!

First,  though it’s not permanent, it does last quite some time!  It’s like my mom used to always tell me about weeding the yard; it’s hard at first, but if I would just keep up with it, it requires much less.  That’s the only metaphor I could think of, it’s the same concept, only laser treatments last much longer than weeding- I hope you get the picture.  Once the treatments are over, you should only have to “touch-up” very seldom to keep the smooth, hairless skin you want, and those treatments will be much easier because the stray hairs are much thinner due to the previous treatments.

Second, laser hair removal isn’t instantaneous.  There are a series of treatments that are spaced out to increase maximum results and also to prevent from harming your skin.  The number of treatments vary, but it’s very common for the average person to receive 4-6 treatments on the targeted area.  Each session you’ll notice the hair thinning out but to get the complete results you’re looking for, there’s a process.   If you’re wanting to ready your body for the summer, don’t wait until May to do it.  Believe it or not, this is the best time for laser hair removal because your skin pigmentation is lighter and it takes a couple of months to have the complete procedure.  If you start now then  you’ll be ready for summer!

Last but not least, it’s not painless, though, if you’re used to waxing I think it’s fair to say you can handle anything.  You’ll notice your skin will be sensitive and in some cases, though rare, there will be blisters.  That’s why it’s really important to find someone who is trained and know’s what they are doing.  If you take the proper precautions there really shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

All in all, laser hair removal will change your feelings your have towards the hair on your body forever!

Self-Satisfaction For 2014

spart1Most of my posts touch on some subject that promotes inner and outer beauty.  For men, beauty may not be the right word, so we’ll go with confidence! Wow that sounds good!  At our spa we treat your body, whether it be a massage, laser hair removal, facial etc.  Though it feels amazing, our hope is to make you “feel” better.  A huge factor in your happiness is how you feel about yourself.  In the end, it doesn’t matter what compliments you get; they sure feel good when you get them but it’s not nearly as satisfying as being genuinely happy with yourself;  how you feel, look, think about yourself.  

There are several factors that contribute to self-satisfaction; exercise being one of them!  This workout is such a great one because it allows you to go as far as you want, depending on how your body is feeling that day.  It’s a fun, fast paced workout that gets the sweat dripping, muscles burning and lungs fighting for air.  If you’re feeling like your pushing yourself too far, slow it down, you’ll still be getting a great workout.  I got it from Men’s Health a couple months back, I tried it then and it made me feel so good!  It’s all body weight or really light weight, I’ve done it with men and women and it’s killer for both.  I switch up my workouts often, but now I’m back on the wagon with this workout and forgot how much I loved it!

The workout is called Sparticus and I tell you what, if you’re looking for a way to trim down but build muscle at the same time, this is the one.  You’ll find it works the entire body and really makes the core work hard.  If you hardly ever work out and it was one of your resolutions this year to start, don’t push too hard, just finish one round of the circuit and work up from there next time.  It’s all about you!  Sooner or later, you’ll be able to do all 3 circuits.

Do this circuit 3 days a week. Perform 1 set of each exercise (or “station”) in succession. Each station lasts 60 seconds. Do as many reps as you can (with perfect form) in that time, and then move on to the next station. Give yourself 15 seconds to move between stations, and rest for 2 minutes after you’ve completed 1 circuit of all 10 exercises. Then repeat twice. If you can’t go the entire minute, rest a few seconds and then resume until your time at that station is up. Use a weight that’s challenging for 15 to 20 reps.
